Another Dr. Apt

Today was my 15 week apt and all seems to be going well. This was probably the quickest doctor appointment that I've gone to in quite a while. I don't know if the doctor was just in a hurry or if there's just not much to do at this apt but I was with the doctor for all of 5 minutes.

They took a urine sample and my weight and blood pressure. I have gained 4 lbs since my last visit so I think a pound a week isn't too bad for this time, although if I keep that rate I'll gain another 25 lbs in the pregnancy and I'm hoping to avoid gaining too much. The doctor also measured my uterus and listened to the heartbeat with the doppler. It was in the 150's which is right where I expected it to be.

I was able to ask the doctor about the pains I've been having in my lower right side and she said that it's likely just round ligament pain which is what I thought as well. She suggested a neti pot or antihistimine for the congestion and that was it, she was out the door.

I had wanted to ask her about a flu shot because it's getting to be about that time but I totally forgot in all the rush. I was also thinking about asking her all my delivery questions but figured that could wait until I didn't feel like I was being rushed out of there. I don't know what the deal is, but I really hope I don't have another apt like this one or I may be looking at other doctors.

On the plus side, I did schedule my ultrasound with the Maternal Fetal Medicine department where they will do the anatomy scan and tell me the sex of the baby!! I am very excited about this! I know that my family was hoping to find out today, but alas, no ultrasound at the office. I think that they are all more anxious to know that I am! Well, we'll all just have to wait one more month.
